Peaceful protests are a primary Constitutional Right in this country & respect is supposed to go both ways. Sadly, neither is truly happening right now.

However, Iesha Evans has given us a very powerful image, amid the chaos with her simple, elegant, act of quiet protest. (Thanks, we needed that!) Ghandi surely would be proud of her...

On all sides, we got law breakers, bullies, thugs, criminals, punks, drunks, negotiators, orators, thinkers, skeptics, role models, Veterans, scardy-cats, politicians, artists, poets, working stiffs, professionals, buddies, pals, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, boyfriends, girlfriends, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, families... lots of families.

Poor Josh Brown.
He deeply believed in emerging Technology & it catastrophically failed him. In fact, it took his head off.

Brown must've believed all of the media hype around autonomous cars. I'm sure he trusted Elon Musk's incessant techno-gospel preaching. I'll bet he read Consumer Reports' bullshit review of how great Tesla vehicles are. He probably felt secure that if NHTSA sanctioned this advanced technology, the Gov't had proven that it was ready for the road. And his believing killed him.

Now everybody is back-tracking. Tesla says "Autopilot is getting better all the time, but it is not perfect and still requires the driver to remain alert..." As usual, NHTSA is investigating & won't comment... Consumer Reports revoked their glowing review of the Tesla due to the high Warranty on the cars. Now, our "glorious" media is talking of Brown's history of speeding tickets & the possibility of him watching a Harry Potter movie at the moment of impact.

NEWS-FLASH:
This technology is still in its infancy! That's why no other auto manufacturer (or Google, or Apple) has released it for production!!!

Sorry, but if it proves true that poor Josh Brown was watching a fkn DVD, he immediately transforms into another dumb techno-twit, like the ass-clown caught sleeping in a Tesla during Cali rush hour. Although, he would have a statistically impressive lead on becoming 2016's "Darwin Award Winner".

EPA IDIOTS Still HATE Old Cars

Once AGAIN, the Environmental Protection Agency is calling for higher amounts of ethanol in the nation's fuel supply for 2017. Next year the EPA wants to add another 300 million gallons to the fuel supply, which violates the blend limits as tested by the OEMs, who have been fighting agency administrator's mandated increase in the distribution of E15 blends. This does however allow the agency sycophants to better suck up to the ethanol producers & Big Oil, whose profits are both waning due to an industry glut..

The EPA bums know that this will damage many new or newer vehicles, but it will absolutely DESTROY components on our old cars (ie; carbs, pumps, etc).

Opposition is growing from organizations like the Environmental Working Group, which says that the EPA proposal "continues a wrong-headed policy that promotes a fuel that is bad for the environment".

Nobody seems to be happy with these bureaucratic louts. "The agency continues to cater to the oil industry by relying upon an illegal interpretation of its waiver authority and concern over a blend wall that the oil industry itself is creating." says Renewable Fuels Association President Bob Dinneen said in a statement.

Autorama is in the Rear View Mirror

At the beginning of every winter, we get antsy waiting for the Autorama circus to come to town. We can't wait to spend some crazy time with our hot rod buddies down in The Basement. So for weeks before the event, everyone preps their cars, clubs fix things on their displays, & girls are busy selecting their finery for the Pin Up contest.

Then we spend the week after the show in recovery. It seems like "normal" life makes a lot less sense after spending 4 days of hot rod hooligans, pin up girls, rockabilly music & other assorted tomfoolery.

Can't wait for next year!
I'd bet that the Amazon Queen of Long Island & Sir Edward of Metalflake can't wait either!

SEMA has issued a press release informing the public that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is aiming to make it illegal to convert automobiles originally designed for on-road use into racecars, even though such conversions have been done for decades. Under the EPA proposed rule, it would also be illegal to sell any performance-related products for those cars. The EPA's proposal would have a devastating impact on motorsports since many types of racing rely on production vehicles that have been modified for use strictly at the track.

SEMA is working with all stakeholder groups to oppose the regulation through the administrative process and will seek congressional support and judicial intervention as necessary.

Citizens Unheard, SCOTUS Didn't Try

Today we "celebrate" the 5 year anniversary of one of the shittiest decisions ever made by the Supreme Court of the United States, the still controversial Citizens United decision. The Court handed a HUGE win to big corporate money and gave them deep-pocketed economic power over our elected officials.

In delivering their decision to allow corporations a larger voice in the election process than ordinary people have, Roberts, Scalia, Alito, Thomas & Kennedy proved that they are either naive old scholars, senile old gits, or unctuous slimeball pricks. You choose.

There seems to be universal agreement that these knuckleheads puked out a piss-poor decision. Some scholars argue Citizens United lit the fuse for the meteoric rise in the wealth of today's 1%-ers, as much as it has diminished the size & stature of today's middle class. As mountains of corporate money drive a stake deep into the heart of the American Democratic process & skewer the voice of the middle class, the 5 Justices seem to stand impassively behind their decision. It was a massive error in judgement that may never get corrected.

You could also argue that SCOTUS is the reason that we now are subjected to endless amounts of Trump's self aggrandizing bullshit & listen to the incessant chattering of the Alaskan Queen squirrel. It's enough to make you want to piss on the heads of those 5 Supreme Court Dickheads.

Car & Driver's 2016 China SELLOUT!

Take a gander at what these dipsticks at Car & Driver think is the best truck in America... their 2016 North American Truck of the Year. A uglied up, pseudo-Swedish turd, Made in China & imported to the US for sale to dull, suburban, dunderpates.

Never mind that C&D's review speaks of vague steering "that doesn't have much to say", a powertrain that couldn't pull a greased stick out of a monkey's ass ("it can't be spurred on to do anything that will quicken your pulse"), meager brakes that "don't inspire confidence", & a measly 25mpg on the highway, the C&D goofs still say it's the "Best".

With a $49,895 base price ($66k price tag as tested), it will easily afford the Communist Party's advertising execs the ability to drop loads of cash on print ads this year. It's no accident that the window stickers, the TV ads, etc never mention IMPORTED FROM CHINA, but still refer to the vehicle as Swedish in origin. Laughable! Informed enthusiasts know that Chinese Engineering is an oxymoron & Chinese Quality will render any vehicle virtually unsellable in 2-4 years, as it falls apart around you.

Bloody hell, you Ann Arbor guys ought to be ashamed...
